ROM Preparation (20 November 2010) -- Flowers

Flowers were probably one of the items that was least of our concern. All thanks to Chern Woon and his wife Mia Cher, we got really really lovely flowers for our event.

It started with just an sms to my ex-colleague Chern Woon because I knew that his wife is active in wedding decorations and particularly talented in flowers. In the past, we have received beautiful christmas presents and V-day flowers from Chern Woon, courtesy of Mia Cher's wonderful wrapping and arrangement. Hence, I asked a favour from them to put together the flowers for our ROM.

When I arrived in Taipei airport for business, feeling tired after 4 hours of flight, reply from Chern Woon really brightened up my day. He said he and wife will gladly help me with the flowers and would even provide us the flowers for free, as a gift. That was a really nice gesture that warmed my heart!

After showing them pictures of my Cheongsam and colour preferences, all we had to do was to wait for the day of our ROM to take delivery from Chern Woon and Mia Cher, who kindly drove over to Gallery hotel to pass us the flowers, as well as some flowers for my hairstyling.

We offered to pay them but Chern Woon insisted in giving that to us as a gift.

Chern Woon and Mia Cher, really want to thank you for the lovely flowers which we really really love! Holding the flowers during our ROM just made us feel very special and grateful for our friendship :)

Highly recommend the flowers from Mia Cher and Chern Woon. It is way better than the flowers we got from Fleurlicious on the actual day. They are experienced in church wedding decor as well.

You can check them out at: http://blissfulthots.blogspot.com/
The lovely cream-coloured ribbons so suit my Cheongsam. The lace around the flowers also had very pretty pearls on them!

Extremely beautiful choice of colours and flowers!

ROM Preparation (20 November 2010) -- Gallery Hotel

Many people asked why we arranged our ROM on a different day from our Actual Day Wedding, which is not too far away. We asked ourselves the same question too....whether this is worth the additional cost and effort but ultimately decided to go ahead with 20 Nov 2010 because this day marks the 10th year anniversary :) We thought this would really make it extra memorable by having our solemnisation on this day.

To be more in line with our character, we have been thinking of looking somewhere bright to host our ROM. We started looking for poolside venues but had some considerations like rainy season at the end of the year, elderly in the family etc. Finally we found the ideal place -- Gallery Hotel Zenden Restaurant.

Initially, we viewed Gallery's function rooms but they weren't the style we like. We were subsequently led to Zenden Restaurant for further discussion and was immediately won over by the bright, open space with full glass window.

We specially arranged for Juliana, the sale manager to negotiate the contract with us. She really made it a breeze to discuss and she was able to call th shots and make the necessary offer when it comes to wine, tables, complimentary room etc. She also gave good tips on food selection, decor etc.

Experience at Gallery was great :)

Our Specially-designed Wedding Band from Fairy's Inc

Our search for our wedding band wasn't a difficult task the moment we stepped into Fairy's inc. Like most couples, we started our search with the typical Love n Co, Lee Hwa, Soo Kee etc but really didn't see anything that we like. Most designs were too similar and that was when it was clear to us -- we probably wouldn't want to settle for anything off the rack.

We made our first trip to Fairy's Inc 2-3 months prior to our ROM, starting by viewing their rings. They are different from the rest! They had styles of their own and more importantly, we could come up with our own requirements and Sandra helpfully helped us to conceptualise the ring designs. It's a combination of what we each want, in very complementary look.

All in all, about 4-5 visits and we got our final rings with our engraving all done. We really love our rings and must really say a big thank you to Sandra from Fairy's Inc for making this an easy and awesome experience!

Comes in a really nice ring pillow. They also teach us how to tie the rings on the ring pillow, so that when we pull on of the ribbons, the 2 rings will fall nicely in place.

Pre-wedding Photoshoot in Taipei (11 September 2010)

We had a really tiring but definitely enjoyable time doing our wedding photoshoot in Taiwan!

We were quite lucky that everything went well...was expecting typhoon in Taipei during our wedding photoshoot period but luckily we were not affected. We were at suburban area, so not affected by the bad rain in Taipei city! Before our shoot, we asked the Bridal Studio what happens if we are affected by the typhoon, there was an awkward silence, then they replied ...Just pray! There was just no backup plan! In fact, Typhoon Fanapi came the following week! Truly counting our blessings!

All in all, we took 499 photos for our 6 outfits! In the end, we ended taking 120 photos that will come in 2 albums! haha... We thought it should be worth it given that we travelled all the way to Taiwan for our wedding photoshoot.

Preparing for the photoshoot -- still looking fresh and happy :)

Finally....a blog for our Wedding Preparation!

This is something that we have always wanted do... Initially we were doubting whether we would be able to maintain a wedding blog given that both of us are always so busy with work. However, this is any important milestone for us -- marking 10 years of our relationship and transition into a new stage of life. Hence, we finally started a wedding preparation blog to document bits and pieces to share with you -- our dearest friends and relativies.

We will try to post regular updates and gather some feedback from you. So "check in" now by posting your first comment below!
